FWIW my version 17.5 w/ W7 does not have Graphics in Preferences.
Applying textures, colors, etc. is very frustrating.

Hi Bill,

In your case, the issue can be related with the fact that your program is rather old => sometimes old programs don't work well with more updated components (hardware).
Try these resources:

- Check the website of your video card manufacturer and update the drivers
- Go to the video setup on your PC (may be different for different versions of Windows and video card); for most, click on an empty part of the windows Desktop, click on Settings -> Advanced -> Troubleshoot. Back the accelerations slider, one level each time and see if the problem disappears. For Windows 7 --> Right Click on your desktop. --> Personalize --> display --> Change Display settings--> Advanced
- Right click on the wallpaper (look for a place without icons)--> Properties--> Settings--> Advanced--> Open GL--> Compatibility Settings--> Force 16 bits--> Apply--> OK
- Set your video color depth at 24 or 32 bits ("true color")
- Go to www.microsoft.com/directx, and see what version is current and check if you have this version installed in your computer
- Some NVidia card users reported additional problems--> in this case change the color settings from 32 bit to 16 bit

Now, if you the accelerations controls are not available, this means that you don't have a dedicated memory for video. In this case, go to the control panel of your video chip / adapter --> performance --> move the control and set down the performance. This may help.

Hope this helps

Thanks, Patricia. What I have is onboard Intel HD Graphics 4400 and I can't find anything anywhere about acceleration or performance. All I have is basic resolution, 16 or 32 bit color, etc. The driver is 2015 but is the latest. Yesterday it took me at least 20 tries just to change the color of a countertop. PC is 2015 Lenovo H530. My program started out as Pro Home Design Suite Platinum that was upgraded at some point to Home Design & Landscape v. 17.5 In some respects (like cabinets) I preferred the older version. Are there any more upgrades or would I just have to start over? Bill

Hi Bill,

Usually, onboard video cards and chipsets (almost all of them) have low performance for 3D purposes.

I'd suggest that you upgrade your Punch program. Usually, they offer good upgrade discounts. Check this page.

Of course, keep in mind the limitations of your computer.

Hope this helps.
