I opened an older file created in 2015 from a previous version of Punch Architectural Series with Version 21. When I selected the 3D view, the file crashed. I then opened the file with Version 20 and the 3D view opened without an issue. Is there an explanation for this? Thanks.

Hi there,

This is odd. Try these options:

1 - Update the drivers of your video card.
2 - Open a sample plan with V21 and check if the 3D rendering process works fine.
3 - Open the file with V20 => save the file with a new name => open the file with V21 => see if the rendering works fine.
4 - In V21 => Go to => Edit => Preferences => System => Graphics => Hardware Acceleration. By default, the level of the accelerations is "Full" => Move the control to the center and see if your issue is solved. If not, move the control to the left (None) => check if your issue is solved.

If these resources don't solve the issue you will need to contact tech support so they can check the issues in your computer (software and hardware), OS settings, etc. and also they will check your system, limitations, etc. They are the experts for these problems.

Hope this helps

Patricia, thank you for the prompt reply. I have discovered that this problem is only with one series of files on the same project.
I am able to open other older version files and see in 3D without issues. I assume there is an issue with this particular file that is creating the problem in 3D view. I have a work around to solve that problem.
Thanks again for your help as always great.
