Using Professional v21

Trying to make a hybrid Tray ceiling that is a sloped tray on the sides and vaulted on the ends with a flat ceiling above it at 24"
but I am unable to remove the sloped ends to give it the vaulted look on the ends.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there,

I will be glad to help, but I am not sure if I am visualizing the shapes. Can you share an image or sketch of the ceiling?

Hi there,

Thank you for posting the sketch.

There are 2 options:
1 - Using the Ceiling Designer Power tool => combine flat ceilings + a gable ceiling (see image below)

ceiling.JPG (24kb) downloaded 10 time(s).

2 - Create a 3D ceiling using the 3D Custom Workshop Power Tool.

Hope this helps.

So I used the ceiling power tool
step one> create flat ceiling
step two> Create Cut out
Step Three> Create Gable Ceiling
Step Four> Create raised Flat Ceiling

See the pic
Ceiling Try 2.jpg (98kb) downloaded 1 time(s).
Questions
1> How do I get rid of the top portion of the Gable?
2> How do I get the second floor to auto adjust up?

You can't. This is a specific situation, so you will need to craft the ceiling using different elements such as 3D pieces, freehand roofs elements, etc.

Punch, as any program, has a learning curve. The best way to learn the program, IMO, is practice + practice + practice => Read and follow the manual (this is important), see the videos => try to create elements not related with your project, so you will become familiar with the commands and how to manage the different components and effects .

If you are interested, my eBook for the V21 programs includes several tutorials about these subjects.

Hope this helps.
