Hello,
Is version 21 able to produce construction drawings for submission for permits? Does it show framing dimensions and wall to wall dimensions correctly? As is 2x4 stud being 1-1/2" x 3-1/2"?

Also can wall thickness be selected with .5" increments instead of 1" increments? So a 2x4 wall with drywall can be shown as 4.5" instead of using 4"?

I am currently using V18 and looking to upgrade and this was an issue trying to generate drawings.

Thanks!

This depends of the requirements of your building department. Each B.D. has its own specifications, and usually, they provide a list featuring the necessary documents.

Do you mean showing studs' dimensions on the framing plan? elevations? Estimator?

In Punch! Architectural Series V21 you can set the dimensions using a precision up to 1/16" (0.0625"), so yes, if you set a wall with thickness= 4.5", it will appear with this thickness in the floorplan. Note that V18 includes the same feature.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Patricia.

Yes. V18 does allow setting of walls to 4.5", however the dimensions do not have fraction capability or I'm unable to configure that.

For the framing dimensions, was referring to the floor plan. It's really related to dimensioning capability. When I created construction drawings using V18, I had to manually dimension everything so it was referred to one side of the wall since the dimensions only had a resolution of 1 inch.

Does V21 have any configuration for wall makeup? Stud, sheating, drywall?

Thanks!

Yes, you can create you Custom Draw Style Profile with different lines, colors, patterns, etc.

Hope this helps.
