Hi Peter Leonard
Below you will find few important rules regarding walls and elevations --> To set the objects, walls, etc at the right elevation, you need to define the ceiling heights. To do this--> Design--> Default Ceiling Heights--> set the exact height of each level. By default, they are 96", this means that (if you don't set your custom heights) Punch will set the second floor at 96" from the grass and the 3rd floor at 192" from the grass
--> The ceiling elevation is the bottom face of the ceiling. This means that if you the floor of the second floor (for example) is @ 108", and your 1st floor has a ceiling of 12", the ceiling elevation will be 96" and the settings of the cutout (if you have one) will be the same: elevation at 96"and thickness= 12" --> If you used a floor in the upper floor, you must consider this thickness in the floor cut

Thank you, Patricia, but if I only want to raise the ceiling height of my living room (on the northeast corner of my house), how do I just raise that ceiling height?

Patricia, when I created my house in Quickstart, then after I clicked continue, then it automaticaly put a roof on each separate story going through the house as if it each story was not stacked. I can't figure out to remedy this. I have roof coming through my 2nd story rooms, and roof coming through my 3rd story rooms.

Hi Peter Leonard
If you added a manual ceiling, just select it and change the elevation

You use the mac version, right? You need to uncheck the "Automatic Roofs" option.
Draw your plan--> go to the roof plan-->as usual, the roof will be developed automatically --> click on the eave --> the roof will be selected--> properties bar--> tool options--> Options--> uncheck "automatically generates panels"

Hi Peter Leonard,
Did you create it manually or is this the automatic ceiling?

Ok, Patricia, I have only one problem, now. I found out that I can just delete the 2nd floor roof totally. The only problem with that is that the 1st floor wall exterior material doesn't blend with the 2nd floor wall exterior material. removing the roof also causes a dark streak to appear along the wall where the eave/soffit was. How do I create a ledge or just an eave there?

Is there any way in the Mac Pro version 12 to put on a coffered, vaulted, or sloped ceiling? I am working with just a one room renovation and have no roof. My ceiling angles down on one side due to a real roof eave. The only ceiling I can seem to get is flat and on one level.

The first trial I did was fine, but in the second drawing, the roof appears to be sitting on the ground for a single story house. I tried changing Default Ceiling Heights, but nothing changes.

Hi pobrien
Two notes 1 - select the roof--> verify the roof elevation 2 - verify if the roof reference (for the elevation) is set as base and not as peak

Hi all - my first post. I am designing my own retirement home, and am using home and landscape design ver 14. I downloaded this version recently. I upgraded from Home design. Anyway I check out the help and it says to click the roof tab and then I will get a list of roof types to use. I simply am not getting the complete set of roof types. I only get gable, freehand (4 corner), and dormer and cutout. Anybody know what I am not doing correctly? thanks much in advance.

Hi msdickerson,
In the Roof tab--> the first icon is a gable roof (outlined in red in the image attached) --> this icon has a small triangle (right bottom - I outlined it in green in the image)--> click on the triangle--> the drop down menu will appear
