Hi there,

Labels: You can activate / deactivate the labels showing the dimensions, area and name. Click inside the room => Properties bar (right of the screen) => set the desired options (see the image attached)

Ramps: Go to Furnishing => 3D library => Handicap access => Ramps and Wheelchairs => you will find a ramp path.
There are also ramp components at Furnishing => 3D library => Exterior => Accessories.
You can use these elements to create your own ramp or start from scratch using the 3D Workshop Power tool. Or, if you prefer, you can import a Sketchup or 3DS file.

Punch, as any program, has a learning curve. The best way to learn the program, IMO, is practice + practice + practice => Read and follow the manual (this is important), see the videos => try to create elements not related with your project, so you will become familiar with the commands and how to develop the different components. Keep in mind that 3DHA was a very old program and lots of things changed.

Hi Patricia,

Thank you for the quick reply. I thought I'd get an email knowing if someone responded, but now I've subscribed to this.

I had already learned to turn off the labels as you showed me. I was wondering if there's a way to not even be able to select them. It's very frustrating to try selecting a refrigerator and if I'm off by a hair, it will select the whole room, or just simply hovering the mouse over the room and the perimeter having them highlight as I do not see that they are useful to me. Is there any way to turn these features off?
My solution has been to leave an opening in one of the walls of the area I am working on until I am nearly 100% complete. Then enclosing the space and turning off the labels.

Thank you for pointing out the ramps in exterior accessories. Those are definitely an improvement on the ramps in handicap access, which were available back on 3DHA. I usually just work in 2d, so it still seems most convenient for me to just work with 1" thick walls and then detail from there.

Thanks again!

Hi there,

You're welcome! :-)

1 - Yes, you need to be subscribed in order to receive notifications.
2 - Usually, the best option to select a cabinet or any other component is hovering the mouse over the element => it will be highlighted and the name will appear, so you can select it without mistakes (see attached).
3 - If you prefer, you can use the selection filters (2D => Selection Filters Options). More about this => check page 55 of the user guide.
4 - If you work just in 2D, you can import a 2D DWG symbol using File => Import => DXF / DWG File. You will find lots of free symbols online.
In my Facebook page, you will find a list of free resources => https://www.facebook.com...tip-11/1347269415345295/

Hope this helps!

So close with the Selection Fiters!
Is there a semi-permanent version of this, or reverse?
I.e. I could select everything but the room and perimeter unless I hold control?
If this is the only option I might just tape down the CTRL key
You can tell I strongly dislike the room and perimeter. :P

Thanks again!
I'm toying with the .DWG/.DXF transfer now.

Hi there,

You're welcome!
Yes, I can see that you don't like the room and perimeter options! (LOL) :-)
Re: yes, you can use the Check all or Uncheck all buttons to choose the desired options.
DWG / DXF export => use File => Export => DXF / DWG file.

I have checked everything but the rooms and wall perimeters. Is there same way to have this permanent so I don't need to hold the Ctrl key down?

Hello Patricia,

FYI
I took the issue of my deep hatred of the highlighting of room and perimieter to Punch! Support and apparently they had already been working on an option to completely disable those features for an update due out by the end of this month.

Hooray!

Hi there,

The placement of the dimensions are related with the type of dimension

Auto dimensions
Perimeter walls => these dimensions are always on the exterior side of the perimeter and you can't change the placement
Interior walls => select the wall => information tab (right of the screen) => Flip Dims => the dimension will flip (right / left or up/down)

Manual dimensions
You can place the dimensions manually.
