Hi Devon,
When a file becomes corrupted, you must close the program and open it again => when you open it again, the program will ask you if you wish to recover the file => the file will open where you stopped your work or close to it.
This works fine unless you deactivated the "Undo" feature.
Try this => go to Windows Explorer => find the file => say you saved the file as "myfile" => confirm that the filename is "myfile.pro" (without any additional letter or sign, like a "~" sign) => otherwise, edit the name to remove the extra characters. Then try to open it using File => open.
