Hi Zack,

There are no stupid questions Feel free to ask all your questions at the Forum :-)

The best way to create a layout is using QuickStart. Yes, overlapping the walls in QuickStart is the correct way to do this. Otherwise, you will have duplicated walls and in addition, this is important because in Punch you need a clear definition of the perimeter.

Follow this example with the images attached
When you add the rooms / boxes in QuickStart mode, you need to be sure to overlap the rectangles (see layout 1 in the first image attached)
If you set the rectangles close but not overlapped (layout 2 in the first image attached) you are creating a confusing layout without a clear interior / exterior definition
Now, if you create separated rooms (layout 3 in the first image attached) the program will understand that you have 3 separated buildings and will create all the elements according with this, including the foundations.

In the second image attached, you can see the results after you press the "Continue" button
The layout # 1 has a clearly defined exterior perimeter, and you can see the foundations perfectly defined. Layouts #2 and #3 have not clear definitions, so the walls and foundations are duplicated
