Hi there,

As you probably know, this Forum is user to user, a friendly discussion where we, as volunteers, try to help users asking for real assistance. I am a Punch user, like you.

So if you have complains or concerns regarding the program, I'd strongly recommend that you contact with Punch TD, or sales, or even Customer service. I am sure that they will help you with your complains or opinions.
You can ask for a refund of your product here

Now, if you are asking for help, these are some tips:

Platinum was discontinued after version 12. With version 14 and up, the Punch programs work differently, this is why they are NexGen versions
Home and Landscape, is one of the most basic versions and it is not an upgrade of Platinum. Did you check your upgrade options with the sales dept?
These are the features for the current versions

Punch, as any program, has a learning curve. The best way to learn the program, IMO, is practice + practice + practice => Read and follow the manual (this is important), see the videos => try to create elements not related with your project, so you will become familiar with the commands and how to develop the different components.
For example, it not true that Punch has only one one cabinet. New versions don't consider cabinets as POBs (Punch Objects). Now, Punch has a Cabinet Tool, located in the Floor Tab. You can decide the type of cabinet and modify it. See attached.

If you are interested to learn the program, check my ebooks (links in my signature), one of them is free

I had a version of Home & Landscape Design Suite and just "upgraded" to Home & Landscape Design Pro 17.5. Old file seemed to come in okay...

Can't walk through? Whenever I try to select, was taking me to a far away view of the house and could only walk around at a distance.

Played with a few interior things like adjusting stair direction and now it crashes when I try to "walk through"?

I'm okay I guess with rebuilding house, but would like to understand why I can't get inside the house on a walkthrough side-by-side (or anything). tutorial made it look simple... Using Windows 8.1 (sadly)

Genemann, go to the main page of the forum and look for the "email to sysop" button. Send your design to that email and he'll probably be able to tell you what is wrong.

In my case when I went from windows 8.0 to 8.1 my design started crashing too. Turns out mine was due to a curved pathway, but it only had an issue on window 8.1. The only solution for now was for me to edit one of the points on the curved path, after it was adjusted it stopped crashing.

As far as being stuck at walking through at a distance, you should just be able to select the yellow guy, then hold the left mouse button and move it up or down to move the view. Hold right mouse down while moving mouse to change elevation.
