Hi Carl,

As you probably know, this forum is user to user, therefore I can't help you with the registration issue. Some tips: usually, the issue is solved with a clean installation
Or check this article by the manufacturer
Or contact the Technical Support dept.

Exclamation marks: The exclamation marks are signs that the used texture is unavailable (see image attached).
You should check the following issues
- If you created and applied Custom textures and you are in different computer, you should install the Custom textures in the new computer
- If for some reason, some of all the textures in the Program were moved or deleted--> you need to set or install the textures again
- If the textures are referred to an nonexistent Material Palette or if they are set in a different media (not accessible or available)
Remember that the Punch file includes the link to the texture in the installed program but the file doesn't load the texture.
If the textures are still there, I'd suggest that you uninstall / install the program (follow the clean installation instructions as explained above) => check if the problem is still there.

The black screen issue that you are describing looks like a video card problem.
As a general rule, try these resources (use all the steps):
- Check the website of your video card manufacturer and update the drivers.
- Go to the video setup on your PC (may be different for different versions of Windows and video card); for most, click on an empty part of the windows Desktop, click on Settings => Advanced => Troubleshoot). Back the accelerations slider to the left, one level each time and see if the problem disappears. For Windows 7 => Right Click on your desktop => Personalize =-> display => Change Display settings => Advanced.
- Right click on the wallpaper (look for a place without icons)=> Properties => Settings => Advanced => Open GL => Compatibility Settings => Force 16 bits => Apply => OK.
- Set your video color depth at 24 or 32 bits ("true color")
- Go to www.microsoft.com/directx, and see what version is current and check if you have this version installed in your computer.
- Some NVidia card users reported additional problems => in this case change the color settings from 32 bit to 16 bit.

Now, if you the accelerations controls are not available, this means that you don't have a dedicated memory for video. In this case, go to the control panel of your video chip / adapter => performance => move the control and set down the performance. This may help.

You'll find several discussions about this here at the forum => search with the keywords "black screen" or "frozen image" or "texture going to the grass" or "texture going to the sky"

In addition to all the steps above, I'd suggest that you download and install the available free patches for your program
