Hi Tim,

You are mixing different concepts here.
Foundations: in the Punch programs the tools in this tab are intended to add the elements under the walls of the lower level. This is why you see the walls of the lower level (basement or first floor).
Basement: basement is just the name of a level. It can be related with the foundations or not

This program is very different from the legacy versions. Punch, as any program, has a learning curve. The best way to learn the program, IMO, is practice + practice + practice --> Read and follow the manual (this is important), see the videos --> try to create elements not related with your project, so you will become familiar with the new commands and how to develop the different components.

Hi Patricia,

So basically your basement needs to be your first floor and your main floor (Bungalow) becomes the second floor?

I usually design what I'd like the basement to be in the house.

I just think of the foundation being your base of your home and not showing every interior wall. If you draw a closet in a bedroom on the main floor, why should it copy to the foundation? The outside perimeter of the home I understand. I was just having a problem in the manual finding the exact issue I'm looking for.

Thanks

Hi there,

Nope, I'm not saying this.
For a better understanding of the concepts, I'd suggest to read the entire chapter 15 and practice all the elements and steps described. Although you don't want to design using the Quick Start, it is important to follow this sequence in order to learn the program and understand all the concepts (walls, elevations, levels, etc)
Also, I'd suggest that you check the videos.
