Hi Rob,

Yes, there are several way, depending of the characteristics of your project

1 - If you have a house + a deck --> Open the Estimator Power Tool (Design --> Launch Power Tools --> Estimator) --> Go to the Deck tab (in the Estimator)--> only the materials for the deck will appear in this tab
2 - If you wish to delete certain material / elements --> In the Estimator --> File --> Export to Excel --> open the spreadsheet --> delete the desired materials / elements. There are several free Excel like programs in the web
3 - If you have a mixed project with new and existent areas, the best options is --> save your file with other name --> delete the existent areas --> the estimator will only show the materials for the new areas --> use this file for estimating purposes only

Hi Tracy,

Can you provide the specifics of this issue?
I'll be glad to help but I need to know exactly what you want to do, what you tried, what seems broken, etc

I'm not sure what to try. I need the estimator to include the wall square footage so that I can estimate the cost of drywall. I've exported the estimate to a txt file so that I could use a search tool to make sure that I wasn't missing it. And sure enough, neither drywall or sheetrock come up in the search.

Did you set the framing? did you check the settings?

Hi Tracy,

Right click on the wall --> Framing properties --> set the framing material
In the image attached, you can see a screenshot of the Estimator showing the drywall

Patricia,
This is weird, I made a simple room just as you did and the drywall shows up on the estimator. However, when I go back to my basement remodel it is not there. I've sent you the punch file to you email address for you to look at.
PS - I believe all of the interior walls are set to wood correctly and exterior walls are concrete.
Thanks for the help
Tracy

Hi Tracy,

I just checked with Punch and it seems that it is a bug that happens when the exterior walls are not created with the Quick Start feature
I know that they are working on this but I don't have an exact time frame for the solution

The estimator does not include framing members. Why is that?
