Hi Randy,

It would be very annoying if there wasn't a specific tool, but fortunately there are several resources that you can use :-)
In live view => select the eye-dropper icon (second icon, outlined in red in the image) => click on the floor (or wall, roof, etc) (see the green arrow in the image)=> the colors / material will appear selected in the tool options bar (right pane) (outlined in yellow in the image).
See attached. You will find this information in the page 234 of the user's guide

Also, I'd suggest to create a Decorator Palette for your project, it saves a lot of time

Thanks Patrica!
Tried to do a search for info but must not have used correct terms.
First time I tried it it was funky operation and the eye dropper would only work once on a cabinet and no other surface. Moved my viewpoint around some and then it seems to work on any surface.

I must have a difference version of manual (First edition, 2011) than you. Found reference of Find material on pg 232.
Thanks!

Hi Randy,

I used the PDF's page number instead of the guide's page number ;-)
Anyway, glad to know that the issue is solved

Hi there,

You need to scale the texture with the real life dimensions => try this:
- In the Properties bar--> Materials--> ...--> go to the thumbnail of the texture you wish to scale--> Right click--> Edit details--> size--> you can set the dimensions.
For example, if you took a picture showing a 36" x 36" area, resize the texture (as explained above) to 36" x 36"
