Hi there,

as you probably noticed, the User Interface of the Punch programs changed a lot in the last years. The Punch programs Version 15 (in 2010) were the last ones featuring the Elevation Slider.
The programs V16 (released in 2011) and up, including the new V18, feature the Elevation bar (see image attached).
This bar fits the elevations' features in the programs V16 to V18.You will find more info in the User Guide, page 25.
Or if you prefer, I wrote a new eBook Learning Punch Software (R): Training, Tools & Tutorials for V18, specific for the V18 programs (promotional price ends tonight)

Hi there,

I will be glad to help with the exact information for the specific issue but I'd need more info => You are trying to apply the fillet tool to what type of object? Main program or Power Tool?

As general help, these are the basic concepts for the Fillet tool: you can use this tool with objects that can be edited at a point level.
For example, in the image attached you can see 2 roofs => the roof on the left is a ready to use roof shape => selecting the fillet tool (outlined in red) and applying it to this roof (green arrows) is not possible because this type of roof has a fixed shape, therefore you will get the error message "You cannot apply Fillets to this type of object"
The roof on the right side is a Freehand roof => selecting the fillet tool (outlined in red) and applying it to a corner of this roof (blue arrows) fillets the corner
If you are interested, you will find more info about this subject in my e-book Learning Punch Software (R): Training, Tools & Tutorials for V18 that is specific for the V18 programs

Hi there,

There are 2 options:

1 - Visualize your project in Elevation view mode => add the transom window on the door (you can add doors and windows in Elevation view mode) => select the new window => set position and elevation
2 - In the floor plan, add the window in the same wall where the door is (close to the door) => select the window => set the elevation => move the position to match the door's position.

I have a Home and Landscape Premium version 17.5. Please let me know what are the differences between version 18 and 17.5. Also, what are the differences between Premium and Pro versions ("better" vs. "best")?
Is there a way to print plans such that the walls are shown as hollow bold line and not solid?
Thank you

Hi there,

there was an addition version between V17.5 and V18 (it was V17.7) So it is hard to compare 2 very different programs.
However, you can compare your current program with the V18 programs and at the same time, you can see the different features of Premium and Pro. Follow the link below to find the chart
http://www.punchsoftware...ion-is-right-for-me.aspx
In addition, I am attaching a chart showing "Which Punch! Product is Best for Your Design Project?" => this chart is also in the pages of each product.
Hope this helps

1 - How do I copy added textures from 17.7 to 18.0?
2 - In 17.7 you can right-click on a texture and change the dimensions. Is there a way to do that in 18.0?

Hi there,

In V18, all the libraries (objects, materials, plants, etc) follow different rules (compared with the previous versions).

In V18, you have 4 different types of libraries: Stock, User, Download and Favorite => you access the libraries by clicking on the name of the subcategory.
1 - In order to copy the textures from V17.7, you must create the desired categories for the user library and then copy the elements.
2 - In order to modify a texture, you need to copy the texture to the User library (right click => copy to user library) => once in the library, you can proceed to resize it as you did with V17.7

The issue of the new libraries requires new concepts, therefore, I'd suggest that you read carefully the section called "Organizing Library Content" in the User's Guide (starts on Page 69).
If you are interested, you will find images and instructions about this subject in my eBook exclusive for AS V18 users Learning Punch Software (R): Training, Tools & Tutorials for V18
