Hi there,

This can be one of several issues. In order to narrow the options, I'd need to know:
1 - Please, inform the characteristics of the computer processor, OS, etc.
2 - Please, inform the size of the Punch file that shows the walk through problem.
3 - Close all the Punch files => Open a new and empty file => draw just a wall => try to walk through this file => are you finding the same problem?

1) AMD Dual Core A4-3420 2.8 GHz; Window 10 Pro 64-bit, version 1511; 10GB memory (9.46 usable)

2) 23,453 KB (23.5 MB)

3) Seems to work fine with a file of only one wall. I'm able to grab the arrow consistently and it moves quickly around the screen. So seems like it's the size of my original drawing that's the problem ... at least for my machine.

Thanks for your help.

Hi there,

You're welcome!

Yes, the problem is your computer resources vs the size of your file.

Some Tips:

- Go to Render and Navigation Options => selecting the different options you can disable temporarily the lights or 3D objects, or topo etc. This will speed the rendering during the working process

- Render Clear view--> use this during the elaboration time

- Try to apply the 3d objects (cabinets, furniture, etc), lights and topography at last

- You can turn off the "Undo" feature--> Edit--> Undo preferences. This will speed your work. Just remember to save frequently (because this step deactivates the autosave for backup feature)

- To get a good Punch performance, close other programs, including the e-mail. Perhaps, other programs are using resources otherwise required in Punch.

If you have any of my training e-books, search the keyword "polygon" to learn more about the effect of the objects in the performance.
