Punchhelpers, "Noob needs help Creating a bathroom countertop with hole for sink?" #1, 6 Mar 2007 3:45 pm

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here it goes again
Hi David Simpson
There are two ways
- Method 1-->Using the 3D workshop--> Follow this tutorial by RB Gardener
RB Gardener, "Hole in Counter Top" #1, 18 Jul 2002 7:20 am
Method two--> In the main program--> Use a piece of floor as counter and use the floor cutout tool (Floor tab) to make the hole. Notice that the thickness and elevation of the floor and of the floor cutout must be the same
Of course, you can edit one of existent cabinets / counters with the help of the 3D workshop
Hope this helps
A specific model? did you see the sinks at your library? did you see the sink in the Plumbing tab? (you can't add new sinks in the PT)
Can you provide more details? (including Punch program / version)
First, thanks for your help!
I am using Home Design AS4000 ver 10. I would like to be able to create a sink or any type of bowl shape for that matter in the 3D workshop. I see the sinks in the library but would just like to know how to create one.
Thanks...
Hi David
Glad to help! ;-)
A sink, as any other object, requires time
I'd say that the easiest way is--> create a curve and use the revolve function. However, you can also trace the shape (back grid) and extrude, then set the points-> this last option will create a model with less kb
I'd suggest that you preform a search in this forum using the words "RB", sink, etc
RB, our 3D workshop specialist, left lots of tutorials (step by step) in this forum. You will learn how to create objects in general and sinks in particular
With V10 you can also import 3DS objects and modify them in the 3D workshop
You can see some objects here
http://www.punchhelpers.com/imaging3.html
To import files, follow my tutorial at my website
http://www.punchhelpers.com/3dsfiles.html
Hope this helps
