Hi mphare,

In the objects section of your sw (Objects tab--> preview bar) you will find 45° angled cabinets or you can elaborate new ones or modify them with the 3D workshop. If you join the borders of the cabinets, they will fuse (visually) and they will look as one cabinet
If you wish a more "dramatic" :-) effect with the counter, try this work around
-In the 3D workshop--> open the desired cabinets (together)--> ungroup--> delete the counters--> join the two cabinets @ 45°--> close the 3D workshop--> accept changes--> in the main program--> place the cabinet in the correct location--> Floor tab--> draw the counter with the help of the floor tool. In addition, you can use the floor cutout tool to make the hole for the sink

OK, be gentle..

I found the 45° counters in the Object tab, and they are not going to work.

So, I've opened up 3D Custom Workshop. Looks promising.

But you completely lost me after that. Is 'join' a 3DCW directive? If so, I don't find it in any of the menus.

When you get into the 'Floor Tool'.. I'm completely lost.

Is there something in the documentation I should read to get me up to speed on this?

Thanks!

Hi mphare

:-)

OK, when I wrote join, I didn't mean a 3DW command. I meant "put both cabinets together"
In the first image attached, move the cabinets
from the first position to the second

Then I wrote
"close the 3D workshop--> accept changes--> in the main program--> place the cabinet in the correct location--> Floor tab--> draw the counter with the help of the floor too"

The Floor tab is the second tab in the main program (Foundations, Floor, Electrical, etc)
In the floor tab, the floor tool is the 13th icon from the left (check the second image attached)

let us know if you have additional questions

Is there a minimum distance the two cabinets need to be so they will join and form a single counter top?

I have found more information on using the floor tool, and that seems pretty straight forward.

It almost seems I need to bring the entire kitchen cabinet structure into 3DCW at the same time and build the cabinets in there, then export the entire structure back to the drawing.

Does that sound about right?

The floor thing is working pretty well, Thanks!

Once I create the floor/counter top as one piece, is there a way to break it up so I can remove part of it? (like for a range)
I tried putting a hole in the counter, but if always leaves an edge, even if I make the hole bigger than the counter top, it puts an edge in front of the counter wherever the edge of the hole was defined.

Hi mphare,

Not necessarily.
You can modify each cabinet in the 3D workshop and set them in the main plan
IMO, this is the best option because if you need to modify a piece, you don't need to edit all the set in the 3DW
Remember that all the kitchen set will be a heavy POB file

Hi mphare,

If your version has the add / delete points feature, you can use it to trim the shape or adapt the contour to fit a range

Yes, there will be always edges in the floor cutout, because it is a cube, the center is transparent but the sides are not
Try to trace the shape following the sink shape--> set the thickness and elevation of the cutout with the same values of the floor

If you prefer to create the counter in the 3D workshop, follow this tutorial by RB
