Hi Patricia,

You probably anticipated this question...I'm starting the 2nd story project (first one) and I've cut away the floor to allow for a staircase to come thru from the 1st floor onto the 2nd floor. That seems to have worked, but the perimeter of the cutout seems to have added about a foot of height to the 2nd floor. Can you tell from that description what I'm doing wrong? I attached a screen shot too. Thanks for your help!

Hi Tom,

The usual answer is => check if the thickness and elevation of the cutout are the same thickness and elevation of the floor.

However, in your image, I can see that other elements are showing some issues, so I think that you have a general elevations' issue. Check all the elevations' settings => verify that the elevations of all the elements are matching.

If you are interested, my eBook for V20 includes a chapter called "Understanding the Elevations"

Hope this helps.
