How can I change the color of the ceilings? By default they are a sort of salmon/beige. No matter how I try to drag and drop a Paint color from the Materials onto a ceiling in the 3D view, it will not apply it to the ceiling!

Hi there,
Regarding the ceiling color => If you use the Find Color Tool (in Live View), you will see that the default celling color is Interior White 20. If you wish, you can apply Winter Colors 002 (RGB 255, 255, 255).
Anyway, in Live View, the colors are different from the colors in the palette. This is a rendering effect and usually this is more evident with the white color, because these colors are actually the colors with shadows.
In order to get better results, you have 2 options:
1 - Increase the ambient light in the scene
2 - Change the light source / intensity of the light fixtures.
