Punch Home & Landscape Architecture v22
How do I add wainscotting to a wall? Do you do it in 3d or 2d. I try to drag it out of the library. 2d has a not here symbol. 3d I try to place it on the wall, a blue circle pops up and then disappears. Sorry to bother, I couldn't find anything on placing wainscot in any of tutorials.

Hi there, The wainscot library is in the Trim Library.  trim.JPG (11kb) downloaded 2 time(s).You must apply this component in 3D. More: see User Guide - Page 152. Hope this helps. |

Thanks again for your help before. I'm still struggling a little.
I added wainscot. I can't find it. but it does show up in edit undo though.
I have added trim, I can see it but I need to change the elevation. I tried to select the trim to see the properties. It keeps selecting the wall not the trim.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There are base trims and and crown trims that are placed on the base / top of the walls. So you don't need to set the elevation. Punch, as any program, has a learning curve. The best way to learn the program, IMO, is practice + practice + practice => Take the time to read, search and follow the User Guide (this is important) => try to create simple elements not related with your project, so you will become familiar with the all the commands and how to manage the different settings. If you are interested, my eBook for Punch V22 for Windows includes all the features, lots of tutorials, screen guides, examples, how-tos as well as images for each setting. Hope this helps. |

Thanks again for all your help.
I did finally get the wainscot to work.
I did read the user guide on the Trim, I must have missed the part that trim always goes to top or bottom. I had a dropped ceiling I was trying to put the crown moulding on. The wall was extending above the ceiling. Yes that is where the trim was.
I'm a 15 yr. Acad Inventor user. Can't teach an old dog new tricks.
