Hi 9985stadigd,
If you are using the freehand roofs, you can select each point separately and drag it to the desired position The "ready to use" roofs (gable, hip, etc) have fixed points

I understand, but when I attempt to drag a point from a freehand roof shape to match a point on another freehand roof shape, it jumps around as if snapping to a grid even though the grid snap is off. I cannot place one point from a freehand roof shape directly over another. The basic problem is creating a homogeneous roof with multiple freehand roof shapes. My assumption is that certain coordinate endpoints of one shape need to match the coordinates of another, but I can't achieve that. Using the auto roof function creates a perfectly placed roof with shapes ending at corresponding coordinates. I can't seem to do this with the freehand shapes I draw. Thanks for the response. D.

Did you try to move the selected point using the arrows in the keyboard? You can use also the Edit--> Move function
Verify that all the points are with the same elevation
