Hi there,

A possible solution => did you disable some Windows services?
If so, enable these service again, especially, activate the Application Experience service and try the update again.

I didn't disable anything to update, and I don't know anything about the Application Experience and being able to try the update again. The version shows as having been updated to the current version, but I got the error message and the software is missing features (e.g., no plants). Is there a way to manually retry the update, or revert to the earlier version? Thanks.

Hi there,

My question about disabling elements was regarding your Windows OS.

Anyway, as your problems happened before the update, it sounds as a bad installation.
I'd suggest that you try a Generic Clean Installation, following these instructions (recommended by the manufacturer) in order to remove the current installation:
http://support.encore.co...genericcleaninstall.aspx
After the new installation, you will be able to apply the update again.

Thanks. I wasn't able to follow the suggestion precisely (I have W10), but I did find my original installation file, and uninstalled the whole thing. I reinstalled the original version, confirmed that plants were there, and then did the update. The update seemed to be okay, and plants are now there. One problem I'm still having (and hoped the updates would fix) is trying to use topographical lines in a mulch bed. Whenever I put an area in, it defaults to some background material, and when I try to change it on just the contoured area, it changes many other areas as well. Any ideas?

Hi there,

You're welcome! :-)
Glad to know that the primary issue is solved now.

Regarding the textures going to the background or other areas, it can be one of the following issues:

1 - If the elevation of the mulch bed is under the 0" level => the little man elevation must be also under the 0" level. If this is not the case, proceed to the solution below
2 - Go to => Edit => Preferences => System => Graphics => Hardware Acceleration. By default, the level of the accelerations is "Full" => Move the control to the center and see if the problem is solved (you need to restart the program after you do this change). If it is not solved, move the control to the left (None) => check if the problem is solved (you need to restart the program after you do this change).
