Hi there,

do you mean if the import capabilities of Punch Pro are different from another version / title of Punch software?
Do you mean the entire paint catalogs? in this case, can you inform the format of the file?

FYI 1: using Punch software you can import all the desired textures, colors, etc.
FYI 2: lots of Sherwin Williams libraries are included with the programs.

Hi!
I have not been able to figure out how to import the entire paint catalog into this software. Are you able to help? All I have are the standard colors that come with the pro software, nothing custom for Benjamin moore or Sherwin Williams. Am I missing how to do this? It says w can import all of our desired colors, textures, etc. but I do not know where to do this. Thanks!

Hi there,

So, your specific question is "How to import paint colors in Punch", independently of the refund of another program, right?
To answer the specific question: to import materials, or colors or any other texture, you will import the desired item to the custom libraries using => File => Import => Material to library (paints are materials) => import the desired image showing the desired SW or BM catalog item.
To learn about "Organizing Library Content", please, check page 69 of the User Guide as well as the item called "To import a material"(page 93 of the user guide) .

Thank you! I will try this now. So in other words the libraries for Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore paint colors are not readily available on the punch professional software, correct? I am a little surprised by this considering cheaper programs have them built in. Just making sure I am understanding you correctly and I am just not working the program wrong. I am very new at this! Thank you for all of your help!!

Hi there,

Let's review a few concepts:
- Punch includes a full Paint Library that includes the SW colors. I'd suggest that you review this library and as well as the information regarding the colors and the monitors' color definition (available when you click a color).
More about "Applying Paint and Color" => page 89 (User Guide)
- Usually, programs include the basic colors and materials, allowing the possibility of importing the Custom Colors. As a matter of fact, I never saw a paint manufacturer offering the full catalog to import or a program including the full catalog.
- There are many websites that offer colors' compositions and equivalences by brand. A tip => choose the desired color and create your own RGB color in the Custom Colors library.
- As you probably know, this forum is user to User (I am a Punch user like you), so I can't help you with issues related with other products. If you are not happy with your sw compared with cheaper products, please, contact the support department http://support.encore.com/
- Punch, as any program, has a learning curve. The best way to learn the program, IMO, is practice + practice + practice => Read and follow the manual (this is important), see the videos => try to create elements not related with your project, so you will become familiar with the commands and how to develop the different components.
If you are interested, I have several training e-books, one of them is free. See links below, in my signature.
