Hi Pat, my question for Apr. I made an error ( no surprise ). When I created my basement drawing and then added a floor I did not indicate multiple floors. so now that I have added a 2nd floor in 2D, -----in 3D a roof is showing over the basement. I have searched without answers, so how can I fix this. Thank you for you upcoming reply, Fritz

Hi Fritz,

This issue has an easy solution Smile => Go to the basement => Roofing tab => select the roof => Edit => Move to Floor => select the desired floor (second floor as you stated in your post) => if the wall heights are correct, the roof will be placed in the exact elevation.

Hope this helps.

Hi Pat, I am still stuck, I the basement- floor 1 shows the outline of a roof, when I go to floor and go to edit current floor the block marked floor is above - will not let me change. 2nd roofing issue my current house has a shed style roof the S. side wall at el. of 9' the N. side at 8 this is for floor2, so I will need to change the individual heights. Thank for putting up wit this old glue sniffer.

Hi Fritz,

I will be glad to help, but I am not sure if I am understanding the problem.

Did you set the walls' heights and elevations? Did you check the working elevations of the different floors?

Also, can you add images to you posts? As you know, a picture is worth a thousand words... BigGrin

Sending sketches old#3 1 floor.jpg (312kb) downloaded 8 time(s). old#3 2 floor.jpg (294kb) downloaded 2 time(s).
The section on the sketches to one side are building addons and not part of the shed roof, I will be adding a garage in to that as 3floor since it is 32 inch lower than floor 2, hope this makes sense. thank you.

One more note existing house is build on a slope so elevation for floor 1 is -5.0 in the north an 0 in the south

As I stated in my previous post, create a level for each elevation. Then, set a separated roof for each floor.

Hope this helps.
