In 3D, can the green grass view of the lot be turned "OFF"?
I would like a white background only.
I can color the sky white with color, but the "green green grass of home" does not go away.

Hi there,

If you wish, you can apply a white color on the ground / topography => Paint Colors => Custom Colors => Winter Colors => Color 002 (RGB 255,255,255)

Hope this helps.

I have tried that , but the sky is the only item to change to the paint color, not the green grass.

Hi there,

The grass and the sky are texturable surfaces, so you can apply any color or texture on these surfaces, as you can see in the image attached (pointed with red and green arrows).

A tip => if the elevation of the little man is below 0", you won't be able to apply the color on the grass, because the grass is above 0" => In this case, I'd suggest that you apply the color using the chopper tool instead of the little man.

Color on grass or sky.jpg (50kb) downloaded 6 time(s).

Hope this helps.

I've verified all of your suggestions, using the chopper, zoom out, use paint color, tried stucco material, the only item to change is the sky.
Using ver 17.7.1

I started a new design, with better results, I can get the ground to change and also the sky now, so there must be some error with my 1st design file.

However, the appearance of the sky & ground are different, even when using the exact same color. What I'm trying to do is view the 3D design without the ground or sky in the background. I would like to fly around & zoom in & out to see the structure only on a white background.
Thanks,
DCL

Hi there,

In your case, the issue can be related with the fact that your program is rather old => sometimes old programs don't work well with more updated components (hardware).
Try these resources:

- Check the website of your video card manufacturer and update the drivers
- Go to the video setup on your PC (may be different for different versions of Windows and video card); for most, click on an empty part of the windows Desktop, click on Settings -> Advanced -> Troubleshoot. Back the accelerations slider, one level each time and see if the problem disappears. For Windows 7 --> Right Click on your desktop. --> Personalize --> display --> Change Display settings--> Advanced
- Right click on the wallpaper (look for a place without icons)--> Properties--> Settings--> Advanced--> Open GL--> Compatibility Settings--> Force 16 bits--> Apply--> OK
- Set your video color depth at 24 or 32 bits ("true color")
- Go to www.microsoft.com/directx, and see what version is current and check if you have this version installed in your computer
- Some NVidia card users reported additional problems--> in this case change the color settings from 32 bit to 16 bit

Now, if you the accelerations controls are not available, this means that you don't have a dedicated memory for video. In this case, go to the control panel of your video chip / adapter --> performance --> move the control and set down the performance. This may help.

If you are interested, I have an eBook for V17.7 users, with hundreds of images, resources, tutorials, etc.

Hope this helps.
