Hi,
I am using a mac mini, late 2014, intel core i7 3GHz, 16GB, 1600MHz DDR3, intel graphics iris 1536 MB. with SSD 512, and 1TB HD
I am using Mojave. all drivers up to date.
My mouse is the long time standard "wired" mighty mouse (has the third scrolling dot/wheel, all directions.
I am using v20 of the Punch Software and I too get intermittent glitches, delays or non-response from the mouse zooming/moving, with the mouse control buttons, that requires me to quit and log in again.

The glitches are disappointing as well as frustrating to get on, what should be, a machine built for graphics work. Not having all the features of the windows version on the top Mac version may mean Punch has to continue developing the software a bit more to accommodate us mac folks perhaps.

Sounds like a problem in your Mac.
Please, contact technical support so they can check the issues in your computer, OS settings, etc and also they will check your system, limitations, video capabilities, etc. They are experts for this type of problems.
