Hi Patricia,

I'm loving the custom cabinet capabilities I've gained by downloading your new "Cabinet Collection". I'm putting together a kitchen using them, and I'd like to mix an original cabinet with your new ones. Should they align "out of the box"? Or do I need to do something to get them aligned. The issue is the countertop height seems off just a hair, and same thing with the thickness of the backsplash.

Thoughts?

Tom

Hi Tom,

Glad to know that you are enjoying the "Cabinets Collection"!ThumpUp

Several items in the collection are custom cabinets, therefore I created different models, counters, drawers, doors, etc. However, the entire cabinet as well as the elements can be easily edited using different methods, depending of your necessities:

1 - In the main program => select the cabinet => go to the Properties bar (right of the screen) => change the dimensions of the cabinet => after each change, don't forget to press Enter in your keyboard so the change takes effect.
2 - Right click the cabinet => 3D Custom Workshop => Open / edit / modify the cabinet or any element or dimension (the counter, for example). After the changes, you can save the cabinet to your library or just close the power tool, accepting the changes.
3 - If your program includes 3DCW Pro, you can open / edit / modify the cabinet or any element or dimension (the counter, for example). After the changes, just close the power tool, accepting the changes.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Patricia, You could probably "jump start" my learning curve on using the 3D Workshop, by telling me how to "explode" a cabinet? Ultimately, I want to remove the backsplash and extend the countertop to create an "eating area".

Thanks!

Tom

PS I have your "Learning Punch Software Training Tools Tutorials eBook", but so far, have not been able to find that tid-bit.

Hi Tom,

Thank you for purchasing my eBook!

Exploding the cabinet => in the 3D Custom Workshop Power Tool, this step is called "Ungroup"
Open the cabinet in the 3DCW Power Tool => select the cabinet => click on Ungroup icon (outlined in green in the image below)

Cabinet 1.jpg (85kb) downloaded 2 time(s).

Once you Ungrouped your cabinet => select the desired part (in this case, pointed in blue in the image attached) => set the dimensions (pointed in red in the image attached) or just delete the counter.

Cabinet 2.jpg (124kb) downloaded 2 time(s).

The 3D Custom Workshop Power Tool chapter starts on page 362 of the eBook.

Hope this helps
