Hi adkrev

Regarding your questions
--> 1 - Changing the objects' dimensions in the main program: you can't do this with any V8 (or older) program. You can modify the objects' dimensions in the main program (without opening the 3D workshop) with any V10 program (AS 3000 V10, AS 4000 V10, IDS or MLP V10.5). However, in all the Punch versions the location of the POB in the 2D plan is defined in the floorplan. The elevation can be defined in the main program (edit--> set object elevation or with the elevation slider, left of the screen), or you can elevate the object in the 3D workshop (this is usefull for sconces or pictures) or you can use the elevation editor
The selction of the object: you can do this in the plan or using the 3D selection tool (Available in Punch AS 4000 V8 and all the V10 programs)
I use other trick: I select the object--> live view--> move the object with the arrows (keyboard), so you can set the exact location in 3D

--> 2 - To import new textures, you need a version including a Power tool called Material Workshop. This PT is included with AS 4000 V8 and V10, AS 3000 V10 and IDS

--> 3 - You can hang pictures with your current Punch version.
There are two or three ways to insert a framed art work or picture:

- Import your picture with the frame using the Photoview (power tools)
- You import your picture --> Open photo view image file --> Photo view properties --> (say W= 2' / H= 3').
Then, Edit --> Set object elevation --> (say 60")
Select a frame from the objects tab: Objects --> Living room accessories
Open it with 3D workshop --> re size W= 2' / H= 3'--> close the workshop (Update changes?-->Yes)
Then, Edit --> Set object elevation --> (60")
Align both objects (photograph and frame in the plan)
So you will have the photograph and the frame with the same size and in the same position. Also, you can use the elevation editor to set the elevation
Some samples illustrating the methods above
Check the signs of the stores in this image of a food court

The green sign is a POB object developed with the 3D workshop
The remaining signs are Photoshop objects and I imported them as images with Photoview
The banners of the first store are POBs (Punch objects) and I used the image as texture (This is for AS 4000 V8 and V10, AS 3000 V10 and IDS)
The same image (different angle)

In these images,
http://www.punchhelpers.com/commercial10.html
http://www.punchhelpers.com/commercial8.html
I wrote a text over a black background and imported it using Photoview

At last, in this image,
http://www.punchhelpers.com/commercial15.html
the names and signs of the stores are just pictures, imported using the Photoview Power Tool

So, probably Punch AS 3000 V10 and AS 4000 V10 will cover all your necessities, as described in your post

Hope this helps

Thanks for a very detailed response. It was very helpful. I am going to upgrade to AS3000 v.10 and give it a try.
