I refered to the help file and it directed me to the file menu and then import symbol option, I am apparently blind because I find no such option available to me. Any help on this matter? Greg

Hi Greg,

From the Help files:

Launching Symbol Editor
Launch Symbol Editor by clicking the Symbol Editor icon on the PowerTool Bar.

Thanks for your reply Patricia, I'm sorry I didn't make myself to clear. I was refering to importing DFX and DWG files from outside into Punch 4000. I saw the symbol editor also and it doesn't import DWG or DFX files from outside the program either. Thanks, Greg

Hi Greg,

Send me the DXF or DWG symbol you are trying to import (zip file, please), and I will check it for you.

Hi,

An important update regarding this issue.

Greg sent me some symbols he was not able to import with the Symbol editor. I analyzed them and I found the problem: the grid in Autocad.

So, turn off the grid in Autocad (Command: grid => off) and save the file without the grid. Then, import it with the symbol editor.

Hope this helps,

Patricia

Hi Don Hughes,

Yes, Punch AS 4000 imports DXF or DWG (CAD) files.
This feature allows you to import your floorplan, and convert each line in a wall, roof, topography, etc. You can add floors, windows, doors, furniture, ceilings and get a 3D model, so you can change materials, colors, decorate and landscape your project

When I use the animator to make a short clip, in one particular drawing, the grass dissappears when it is previewed. When i use the mouse to walk around the grass comes back. When I stop it goes again. This is in only one drawing. Im have tried changing the cutaway slider and the elevations with no success. Any help would be appreciated. Charles
