Hi Wayne Roberts,

Carpets and panels, just reach close to the object--> drag and drop the material, as you do with floors, walls, etc

Curtains --> open them in the Material editor--> trace the shape--> this additional layer can modify brightness, contrast, adapt colors, etc

Hope this helps

I've opened the material workshop, dragged a curtain panel to edit, but find no option to "trace" it. Bringing up the help menu index also makes no reference to "Trace". Am I missing something?

Hi Wayne Roberts,

I wrote "trace the shape". You can draw the shape of the curtain or a part of it, using the available shapes

Please, check the images attached. The shapes are outlined in red. I drew a circle in the middle of the curtain and I changed the brightness

Hope this helps

I was selecting the area to modify while working under the "accessories" tab. This was dividing the image into quadrants? When I first choose the "color" tab, and then select the area, the process works like a charm. Thanks for stepping me through this process!

Thanks for this guide. I have been driving myself crazy trying to lighten one of the stone materials to make it look more like limestone. Punch needs a little better help on this item in the program.

Can I take a close up picture with my digital camera of my curtains in my real house and import the photo into the program so that the curtains that I put into my drawing will be the same as the real ones.

Hi Moe & Beth,

Yes, you can. Try this
1 - Power Tools--> Photoview editor--> Import your picture--> mask the picture (follow the Masking PhotoView Images instructions) --> save you new picture
2 - Material Workshop --> Import the masked picture --> create a new texture with the picture
3 - 3D workshop--> create a 2D surface with curtains' dimensions--> texture with the texture you developed with the picture--> set this surface in front of your window

If you have the exact color, you can paint a current set of curtains using the Material workshop Power Tool
See attached
