You can do this according with your preferences and your computer HD space, because the upgrade version is, as a matter of fact, a full version. Therefore you can
1 - Install AS 5000 without uninstall AS 4000, so you'll have both programs running in your computer and both will live in harmony (I've 8 Punch versions installed and working)
2 - Install AS 5000 uninstalling AS 4000 (if you do this, remember to save your Custom Libraries before uninstall)
