1 - If you are designing a fireplace with the Fireplace Wizard Power Tool--> you can Save as your design as XXX.pfw, so you can open and modify your design

2 - You can also export it to the 3D Workshop, so you can modify it as object or add accessories, etc

3 - If the fireplace is in your plan and you wish to modify it using the Fireplace Wizard Power Tool--> just right click on the fireplace or double click on it
