Thanks,

I was beginning to suspect that. Seems that Punch! developers could really help in this area by implementing a function enabling freehand drawing of a gable ceiling, allowing the designer to put in any kinds of bumps and protrusions desired...

Hi keithb,

I agree, or perhaps a function where you can set the elevation of the different corners

This is what I do in these cases--> say the upper level of the ceiling is 108" and the lower part is 96"

1 - (see image attached) Go to the 3D Custom Workshop --> set it as wireframe--> front view-->
set two rectangles or lines with the two different heights (in the image attached the blue is 96"and the green is 108") --> these rectangles are just a guide and must be deleted after--> set the distance between them as necessary for your ceiling--> trace a line between the two rectangles--> use the extrude tool (outlined in red in the image)--> your ceiling is ready--> set the length to fit your alcove--> delete the rectangles (references)--> color / texture as desired --> close the tool (you can save the object to your library, if you wish) --> add object? yes--> set the ceiling in the alcove--> it will be ready, with the exact elevation

2 - Other trick for users with the Trim Designer Power Tool(the dims are limited)--> create a trim using the triangular shape--> last shape of the initial trim blocks--> set the dimensions--> apply as crown molding--> color / texture as necessary (see attached)
