Hi Tammy,

In the Preview bar, (right side of the screen), open the Materials tab--> Choose the material you wish to customize and double click on the material thumbnail--> the custom material application will open--> you can change scale and make adjustments on the color

Let us know if you need more help

This is my first week using this software and I am also trying to customize materials. I followed Patricia's suggestion of double-clicking on a material thumbnail, but nothing happened. Perhaps I am not understanding Patricia's answer, so I'll give more detail in the hopes of getting clarification... I am using Pro Platinum V8, I select the Materials tab and double-click on a thumbnail. Or, I have also tried it within the Material Painter and the 3-D Workshop. Any help will be appreciated!

Does anyone know how I can create thatched roofing material for a building I am trying to create? I am new to Punch and apologize in advance if there is a simple answer to this. Thanks in advance, Jerry

Hi efrain, Sorry the misunderstanding, the question and my answer was about Master Landscape Pro (is the thread where we are).

Hi Larry Brewer,

The original version of Platinum 8 hasn't the "Materials Workshop" Power Tool. Platinum 8 has the Material Modifier, where you can develop changes in the current textures but you can add new ones

Hope this helps

Correcting the two typos above :-) , please read the concept as

"Platinum 8 has the Material Modifier, where you can develop changes in the current textures but you can't add new ones"

Hey everyone, I'm new to the group and have a couple of quick questions: 1. can you place materials diagonally on decks and patios? If so,...how? If not,...do I have to create it in photoshop first and then import it? 2. With regards to "stamped-patterned" concrete, how do I get the patterns into the materials list so that I can place it onto my patio? thanks in advance, Brent

Hi Brent,

Welcome to the Forum!

First, lets clarify a concept: the materials in Punch are just textures, therefore, you can "paint" your deck with a diagonal texture, but you can't rotate the textures in the Punch screen
So, your assumption is correct, you must rotate the material in Photoshop (or other graphic program) and then, import the new texture in Punch

To import and / or rotate materials in Punch, you'll need a Power Tool called Materials Workshop. Once you have the MLP version, you don't have this PT. You have only the Materials Modifier tool. With this PT you can only modify the current Punch textures

There is a work around to add new textures (for Punch versions without the Materials Workshop tool)
You can learn RB's tutorial about this subject,
http://www.punchhelpers.com/rb_resources.html

Regarding the concrete pattern, is the same situation, you must create it outside Punch and import / replace the texture

Hope this helps
