Hi Chris Hollingsworth,

There isn't a direct way to export your Punch plans to bmp, but there are several workarounds to do it:

1- Print the plan, scan it, and save it as *.jpg, *.bmp, etc.

2- Visualize your plan, make a screen shot: Print Screen-->Go to MS Paint-->Paste--> Trim the image--> Save as *.jpg, *.bmp, etc.

3- If you have Acrobat writer: Open the plan and ask for the option "Print to fit page"-->print to file-->select your printer as "Acrobat PDF writer". To trim or save as, you can do it in the Acrobat PDF reader). Then select the picture, copy and paste in your document

- If your builder has a CAD program, you can export your plans to DXF

-If you have Platinum 8, you can add Lyle's Power Tool, he will explain his tool better than I :-)

Let us know if you need more help

I get the same probs when trying to export as .bmp! Pretty poor if the only way you can get a pic is by "print screen" or scanning a hardcopy print. I hope there will be an update patch for this function as it is high priority to capture and save the rendered file.

G.,

The message above is related with Punch plans (meaning floor plans= 2D plans).
To export your rendered images to BMP, use File--> Export 3D--> BMP. You can choose the quality of your image with View--> 3D final quality

Hope this helps

ps Is there a way to choose a higher dpi when exporting 3D files? 72 dpi isn't high enough for printing and if I change it in an image editor to 300 dpi, the size of the pic then shrinks down way too small.

Hi G,

If you are using Platinum 8, you can export to PSD (Photoshop), in my experience is the best quality

If you are working with Platinum 4.5.1., you can export to bmp and then work with any image program like Paint shop pro

Hope this helps

Hi Patricia, yes that's great thanks. I didn't think of PSD but I do have photoshop so I will try it. Cheers :)
