Hi bagby

For flat roofs (Santa Fe Style) you have two options--> you can use the floor tool or you can use the freehand roof tool and set the custom pitch as 0:12
Now to create a slightly sloped roof, as in real life, I'd suggest the second option --> create the roof with the freehand roof tool and set the custom pitch as 0.5:12 or 1:12
Depending of your Platinum version, you will have or not precision options for the dimensions, pitches, etc

Hi folks! I live in quebec canada (I think we receive our lot of snow lol!) we build flat roofing too but we build it in a different way as looklike basin style such that the higher elvation of the roof is in the perimeter and going lower toward the center of the house and a water drain at the center is connect as a stack to the sanitary sewer. We use the 2% slope (about one and a half degree) for the water draining. In your case you could use your pipe drain as fancy deco and finish your parapet with the style you want. In real life you should calculate your roof as a floor(ex: +/- 45 pounds per sq/feet) It was just an idea freely emitted... Michel

Hi Michel

Good example!

Did you know that the Laval University in QC was the first building in Canada with a flat roof?

For this type of roof, just create the pieces and slope--> select a handle of a piece --> Edit--> Rotate --> 180°--. the roof direction (arrow) will rotate

The floor idea sort-of works for the flat roof, though it looks a little odd. I can't get the mineshack roof bit to work though.

I can make the roof itself, that's no problem, though I'll worry about the material later. I can make the south wall higher than the north wall and get the slope right, also no problem. But the east and west walls? They're triangular at their tops to accommodate the sloped roof.

Any thoughts on how I can draw or fake that?
