Notice that Jessie's problem is different because she has Punch AS 18 V8 and this version has not Material Workshop. Punch As 18 V8 has only Material Modifier

Actually, though Lord knows I could be wrong, I am more inclined to think the problem has more to do with the way I am converting to .ppv, .ptx, and/or .pti files than with the image itself.

I got the image here in the textures folder under siding-'Barn_siding1.jpg'and using PaintShop Pro changed the color. It tiled perfectly as a desktop but when I converted it and put it in the custom textures folder of the program there were significant gaps between the image tiles when applied to anything. I had previously converted formica swatches and imported them into the program and they worked fine, so I am not sure what is different now.

I did read through the commandments page before I posted originally but did not see anything regarding this particular problem.

Patricia, I will email the original image, the colored image, and the pti, ppv, and ptx files I made - thank you for your offer :)

Thank you both for getting back to me - if you have any other thoughts, ideas, etc. I would be happy to hear them. I hate not being able to figure this out.

Jessie,

I received your texture and sent it back, fixed (I hope!!). Let me know if you received it

Just for learning purposes, Jessie's problem was the original BMP, it is a rectangle (it is not an original Punch texture)
The original texture should be a square (using pixels, 128x128 or 256x256, etc)

Hope this helps

I got the reworked texture, Patricia, thank you for doing that. Unfortunately the gaps are still there when the texture is applied. I sent you a picture of what the gaps look like in case that would be more helpful.

Myself,I am stymied at the moment but not ready to give up... :) If there are any other thoughts or ideas I would be happy to try them.

Thanks again

Hi Jessie1014,

I received your image
If you check the image attached, you will confirm that the gap is not related with the texture
In my opinion the problem is related with the fact that you have two or more walls, and they are not perfectly joined
Do you have two or more walls in the image you sent? are the walls stacked? Did you change the tile size?

Each situation has a different solution.

I just upgraded to AS18 v8.0. I too have experienced gaps in textures that I have created in other graphics programs and tried to use in Punch AS18 v8.0. I was able to get rid of the gaps by using the "Material Editor". Using the "Material Editor", I opened the texture that had gaps, but did not make any changes. Then instead of choosing "Save","Update the Existing Texture", I chose "Save","Create a New Texture". The new texture did not have the "gap problem". I then deleted the original "problem" texture. I have no idea why this worked for me. Hope it works for you.

Hello, I don't know if you've fixed your problem, but I too have had problems with gaps. I've tried to used a picture of flagtone for a continuous floor and there are gaps between the sections. If I change the size of the object in the pti file it just stretches out the pattern. I set up some custom texture files for my brick and they didn't have gaps. Both are 256x256 and 50x50. I don't know why one worked and the other one has the gaps. Hope you fixed your problem and if anyone has a suggestion please let me know.

Hi Renetta,

As I stated, it was not a texture problem. The user had two walls

I will be glad to check your texture and fix it, just send me your texture and a screenshot of the image in your computer as well as the name / number of the Punch program / version you use

I am having the same problem with the metal roof textures. They look great except I am getting that same tiling issue with the gaps. It shows up on the roof and walls. I even tried creating a new drawing with just 4 walls and it does the same thing so I don't think it's my drawing. I'm using AS3000v8 Any ideas on how to fix it?

Hi raxmax

I am not sure which version are you calling "Standard", however the speed is related with the elements, objects and shapes you include in your 3D model
Notice that Punch AS 3000 (V7 and V10), AS4000 (V8 and V10), and the V10 versions have Controlled Walk Through and Fly Around tools using the green man or the green chopper

Hope this helps

I apologize for not responding for so long, I had been sick and nowhere near my computer for quite a while.

Patricia, thank you for your help with my texture, whatever you did to it that last time worked perfectly !

Unfortunately, the gap problem continued with any other texture I tried to make, regardless of size, shape, etc. so I tried Todd's suggestion (posted in April) and that solved the problem. (Thank you Todd !)

I appreciated everyone's help and advice and, again, I am sorry it took me so long to say so

Hi Jessie,

I hope you are OK now!

Yes, the problem will continue because (as we discussed previously) the problem is related with the walls' alignment and not with the texture

Try this: create a wall in the second floor with length 200" and height 200"--> apply the texture--> there are not gaps, right?

Let us know if you need additional help
