Hello,

I am new to the fourms. I do agree with John. The DXF export only outputs a 2D print that can be called into other programs.

I work mainly with Truespace, Bryce, Poser, and a host of other releated programs. All of these programs commonly support the OBJ file format.

I know that Punch! simply created a home design suite, which is the best that I have used so far, but it can be a lot more with the addition of a 3D export. I have the TurboCAD Floorplan program which does export OBJ. The problem with Floorplan is that the program is primitive compared to the Punch! product.

I'll keep this short, I could go on......

Hi Clarkz,

If you are an Adobe user (other than the free PDF reader), you probably have the Acrobat writer installed as a Printer option of your computer. In Punch, you can save the plan as a PDF file . (Print to fit page-->print to file-->myplan.pdf).
You can open this document with Adobe Acrobat or Photoshop (and other programs). Use File-->open-->myplan.pdf or import the image Import-->PDF image-->myplan.pdf

Depending of you Punch version, you have other options (Kinko's preparation tool, additional Power Tools)

Nearly any graphics program will do this. You probably have Microsoft Paint on your computer. Look in Programs > Accessories. You may also have Microsoft Photo Editor. Most of the free software programs that come with digital cameras will work. Free download programs such as IrfanView will work.

Open the bitmap in whatever graphics program you can find. Save it as a JPG (also called JPEG). That's it.

Hi Joe Krulock,

I am assuming you have Adobe PDF writer installed in your computer, right? If you don't have, there are several free applications in the web.

Then, follow these steps
- Select a floor-> view working floor only
- File--> Print to scale / Print to page--> Printing in color (yes/no)--> Select PDF writer printer--> Properties--> Paper Custom Size= XX"x ZZ" (the size to fit the plan)--> Print
See the picture attached

Hi Doug,

There are several ways to do it:

1- Print the plan, scan it, and save it as *.jpg, *.bmp, etc. Then insert as picture in your Word document.

2- Visualize your plan, and take a shot of the screen Print Screen-->Go to MS Paint-->Paste--> Trim the image--> Save as *.jpg, *.bmp, etc. Then insert as picture in your Word document.

3- If you have Acrobat writer: Open the plan and ask for the option "Print to fit page"-->print to file-->select your printer as "Acrobat PDF writer". To trim or save as, you can do it in the Acrobat PDF reader). Then select the picture, copy and paste in your document

Hi Daniel,

I will be glad to help but your question has several answers, depending of the characteristics of the problem. Of course, assuming that you mean exporting from Punch

Please use the following guidelines when asking questions on the forum.

Please include the title, version, and platform you are using. On the PC you will find this info in the main menu->Help->About… On the Mac this info is on the title menu->About…

If possible, post your question in the Forum's specific folder of your program. Old programs are in the Legacy section.

Try to detail the problem as specifically as possible, so we can understand the issue. Let us know exactly what you want to do, if you mean plans or elevation or 3D images, what you tried, what seems broken, etc.

If you wish to post images --> follow these steps:
- upload your picture to a free online photo album like Photobucket or Flickr or Picassa, for example
- Look for the link of your picture (usually, photo albums provide a "link for a forum" script) --> copy the full URL --> Paste the link in your post

Some issues can be related to hardware you are using. Please post any information you have on your system (operating system, video card, etc).
