Hi cchws,

Open your DXF plan in your CAD program and modify the text properties from "single line" to "multiline"

Hope this helps

I am attempting to export a floor plan from Punch!18 to AutoCad 2005. I used the Power Tool Export DXF feature. When i tried to open the file in AutoCAD I got the following message:

Syntax error or premature end of file on line 38809.
Invalid or incomplete DXF input -- drawing discarded.

Please advise me what to do, I would appreciate step by step instruction. Also how can I get the floor plan into a file for view only presentation purposes, JPEG, etc.

Thanks so much, I'm whipped...

Hi James Barnes,

The "Syntax error or premature end of file" issue is very common and it happens when you have a corrupted element in your Punch plan

The only way to fix the problem is finding the offensive element and deleting it. Sometimes is a Punch object, sometimes is a text, sometimes is a piece of wall or floor.

If you are proficient in CAD, try to edit the DXF file and check the line 38809, perhaps you'll find a clue.

If you don't find the element, send me your plan and I'll check it

I am having problems with the above files being recognized when exported. I get a message that the files are corrupted.

Please, can you inform the Punch program you are using, the format and version used to export and the program you are using to open the CAD files?
