I understand the importance of exterior walls connecting. I even understand the importance of interior walls connecting--in the finished product.
I am talking about during the design stage, where you are moving walls here and there, making adjustments or trying different configurations. This seems impossible with the current program. That just can't be....can it?
Thanks

Hi Ronlattner,
Just a couple of suggestions, for the "what if" stage of your project
If you are using AS 3000 V10, use the Room Wizard (Power Tools). With this tool, you can try different lay out configurations without the real walls, and at the end, you can convert (or not) the lines into walls
If you are using AS 3000 V8, you can do a similar procedure with the detail tab: create your layout with lines, rectangles, etc and when you are done, select the lines--> convert to--> Interior or Exterior walls (as necessary)
In addition, if you create the walls separately and you move the walls using the arrows in the keyboard (instead of the mouse), they will not connect
Hope this helps

With V10, try the Room wizard, you'll love it!
