I am having trouble building my log home with architect 4000. I cannot seem to get the log walls to take place. I want to build a log home with complete round logs and am not able to do so. What can i do to accomplish that. Al Dionne

Hi Al Dionne,
For Punch AS 4000 (as well as AS18, AS3000 and Platinum8): Open your Punch program--> objects--> Log home--> you'll find a set of 80 log objects, including log corners, walls, etc. All these objects were developed with round logs and you can resize or modify the objects in the 3D workshop
Let us know if you need additional help

I am still having a bit of trouble finding the typw of log walls that i need. All i can see so far are log walls that are half round logs. I have yet to see a full round log wall.

Additional log textures are available at my site http://www.punchhelpers.com/textures_repl.htmlNotice that these textures are the replacement format, so to import them to the material workshop, follow these steps Download the files in your computer--> select the file with extension .PTX--> right click on it--> Open with--> MSPaint (or other graphic program) With the texture opened in MSPaint--> Save as--> mytexture.bmp (or other name or extension you like) Open the materials workshop (Power Tools) and import the texture As we discussed in other post, the texture will not convert the structure of your wall, so, if the logs are round, you can texture the interior side also Hope this helps Patricia |

I am not able to draw wall sections with anything but default values. Even after entering custom values such as height and pitch into the appropriate spaces, the wall is drawn to default values. How can I lock in the the custom values so the wall will drawn as I need it?

Hi Ed Reck, For V7 versions or up, after you enter the windows or doors dimensions or a wall dimension or a pitch, or the floor thickness or any other modification in the properties bar you need to press the enter key in your keyboard after you write each value Patricia |

I have some difficulties in Home & Landscape Design Architectural Series Version 15.0.1 How can I create a support column for a deck at the first floor level and see the columns showing on the plan in the 3D view as well?

Hi Alex
the structural elements like columns, beams, etc developed with the Framing Editor or in the Framing tab (depends of the version) will not appear in the liveview screen of the main program. You can see them in the liveview screen of the Framing Editor PT or in Framing mode, and of course, they will appear in the Estimator Bill of Materials To add columns in live view --> 1 - Go to Furnishing --> Exterior--> Accessories--> you will find several columns as 3D objects (POBs) 2 - You can develop your columns using the floor tool--> set the dimensions and height--> texture as necessary
An additional note!! If you decide to add both the framing columns / beams + the POB's columns / beams, all these elements will appear in the Estimator Power Tool spreadsheet For example: the Estimator will account the framing column + the POB column

You don't need to add them twice: just open the Framing Editor Power Tool --> Add the framing elements or set the current elements --> Close the tool --> save changes --> OK --> Save your Punch file --> each time you access the Framing Editor Power Tool, the elements will be there and they will be in the Estimator BOM The new versions work with a different process
