Hi Bart Culbertson,

I became an Architect in 1980, so I drew during 20 years using pencil and paper, until I found Punch.
First, notice that Punch is not a CAD program, Punch it is a Home Design program, and this is a great difference.
In Autocad, for example if you draw a rectangle, you can set it as a wall, as a piece of a computer or a car. If you try to see this rectangle in 3D, you will see...just a flat rectangle in 3D.
In Punch, if you draw a wall, it will be exclusively a wall, with wall properties in 2D and 3D. This is why you need to insert several settings for each Punch item, because you are developing the floorplan + the elevations + the cross sections for each element.

Check my galleries to see my works with Punch

Hope this helps

Dear Punchhelper, I have been using A S 4000 V8. Yesterday I got problem to close it (it hangs up), so I used "Ctr+Alt+Delete". Today I couldn’t open this program any more (even I reinstall it 2 times). It said: "this program did not properly exit during the periods session, an attempt will be made to be recover the unsaved design changes from the periods session". The program doesn’t appear and I can’t use it, but it still running behind. How can I fix it? Best regards Helen

Hi Helen,

This is odd. Did you try to uninstall it completely and perform a new and clean installation?
Did you install a new Antivirus or antispam sw?
In addition and just in case, try to check your computer for spyware. Lavasoft is a good (and free) tool for this http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

Hi Helena,

Good news!
A suggestion: if you have Windows Me or XP, create a restore point (Accessories--> System restore--> Create a restore point). So, if something goes wrong in the next days, you've a restore point to return

Hope this helps
