Hi Wayne Roberts,

IMO you can develop a 3D workshop object--> close--> accept changes (save to your objects'library also)--> with the object in you plan--> Select the object--> put in the right position (close to the wall)--> Select the object --> Edit--> Set object elevation--> write the desired elevation

or

Select the object --> right click the elevation slider--> write the desired elevation

or

Select the object--> right click on the piece--> Set elevation--> write the desired elevation

This is the way I did the attached image

I figured out how to make a screen using the Material Workshop. I would like to place it about 3" in front of a wall which contains 2 windows,as if it was pull down screen. Is this possible?

Hi Wayne Roberts,

Why not?. 3D objects are self standing and independent of doors, windows, etc.
Place the object in the plan with a distance of 3" of the wall, and then set the elevation as described above

Patricia, Thanks for your help. I'm unclear why my 3D object is requiring me to place it on a wall section, as opposed to within the room as if it were a chair. (I've gotten the result I wanted, I just want to improve my knowledge). Also, your theater design is awesome. Are your chairs available in any of the libraries on the forum?

Hi Wayne Roberts,

Glad to know that you put the screen in place!!

Regarding your question: As I stated, the screen is a POB, a Punch object and it has the same properties of a chair, for example. So Punch doesn't know if a POB is a screen, a chair or a person :-) , this is why, we need to inform Punch, location, elevation, etc

Regarding my home theatre (glad to know you like it!), yes, you will find the elements in this forum, in these temporary folders

Let us know if you need additional assistance
