With AS 4000, you can export your plans in a variety of formats
1- Print the plan, scan it, and save it as *.jpg, *.bmp, etc.
2- Visualize your plan, and take a shot of the screen Print Screen-->Go to MS Paint-->Paste--> Trim the image--> Save as *.jpg, *.bmp, etc.
3- If you have Acrobat writer (or you get a free PDF sw): Open the plan and ask for the option "Print to fit page"-->print to file -->select your printer as "Acrobat PDF writer". To trim or save as, you can do it in the Acrobat PDF reader. Also, you can Print to Scale, changing the size of the paper
4 - Create your plan--> DXF exporter (notice that the plans will not be in the exact scale)
Let us know if you need additional assistance

If you want to send the plan to someone who doesn't have your program, the easiest form of transport is to print to PDF. I am not familiar enough with Architect 4000 to say but if it has a print to pdf utility you could use that. If not there are several free PDF printer utilities out there. One is CutePDF. In this one you need to download and install two small programs and then use it like any other printer. The other (which may be more appropriate to your application) is one called GeoPrinter, which is made for large format prints. And as you know PDF can be printed on nearly any printer regardless of the actual drawing size. Just search for the names and you will find them.
