There are several options for this issue

With Punch AS 3000 you can use the 3D selection tool (arrow icon in the lower right corner in Live view, see the attached image).
You can select items just on the active floor. So, if you click on the object in live view and it doesn't become active in the plan, try with other level.
I suggest to work with liveview / half view so you can control the plan and the live view at the same time

In addition, you can use the Elevation Editor (Power tools--> Elevation Editor), just confirm that the Editor's settings are with 3D objects visible

Other resource: change the tabs of the objects--> draw the objects or floors, etc--> Select each piece--> Move to plan--> (floor, landscape, etc)--> Select different colors for each tab (Options --> screen colors) . In this way, you will visualize the different objects
