Hi mitch lavean, Use the Freehand roof (Roof tab--> 7th icon). For the columns, you can develop them manually with the 3D workshop or you can use the columns included with your sw (V10) or you'll find columns at http://forums.punchsoftware.com/WebX?14@@.fac4dbf Hope this helps Patricia |

I just completed one on a house. The steps I followed are:
1. Build roof with Roof Wizard. It will start out as a hip roof. Adjust roof for gable, if needed.
2. Add 4 new points along the roof line where porch is present. The two outside points are the outside dimensions of porch roof. The two inside points will form the square box where the porch roof fits.
3. Select the roof eave segment within the two inner points just added. Move that segment UPSLOPE to the point where the porch roof joins the main roof. I am assuming the porch is a lower slope (ie 3/12 pitch) than the main (ie. 6/12 pitch). Step 2 and 3 assume the affected main roof segment is contiguous.
4. Using the 4-Point Freehand roof tool, place the tool over the wall segment adjacent to porch. Click wall and then adjust the porch roof size to fit the porch size.
Hope I'm not too late.
Stan

Hi Donna McDowell,
This is what you can do - Power Tools--> DWG /DXF importer-->...(Your file)...--> open --> Accept changes Once you imported the DWG roof plan in your Punch file, if you imported DWG polygons--> select them--> convert to--> Freehand roof--> set elevation and pitch If you imported only lines, draw a polygon using these lines then--> convert to--> Freehand roof--> set elevation and pitch Or, simply use the DWG lines to trace your roof
Let us know if you need additional help
