Just as reference: I am developing in Punch a new "historic house", aprox. 13800 sq.ft., with custom fireplaces, custom cabinets, crown moldings, iron handrails, columns, and lots of details, custom objects, topography, etc. The size of te Punch file (it is almost ready) is 8.7Mb

Other file: Shopping Center, (I developed it in 4 files), with stores, and columns and photo view pictures, etc, each plan with 800 x 800 ft, 7 to 8 Mb each.

In my opinion, what makes difference in the 2D (floorplan) speed is the topography.

Work in a file without topo and insert the topo at the end is the best option

Hope this helps

I'm using Punch Architectural Series 18 to design my basement. My biggest problem is that almost every action results in a four or five second delay (e.g. moving or resizing an object). It doesn't seem to matter if LiveView is on or not. The file is about 3.5 MB. This is on a 2.8 GHz Pentium 4 HT with 1 GB RAM using the Intel motherboard video. Rendering is very slow also (several minutes with minimum quality). I have no topography. Thanks

Hi wsdickerson,

If the issue is in 2D and 3D, then the problem is in the computer.
You didn't describe your VC capability (Mb), however, if you've a motherboard vc, probably the problem is there, because the vc shares its resources with the motherboard
A good practice in Punch is to close all the programs (including e-mail, Internet, etc) during the time you are working with Punch

Hope this helps
