Hi Jim,
First question: Windows or Mac? (Punch has a new version for Mac)
Second question: desktop or laptop?
Video cards: I have an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (128 Mb), an ATI 7000 with 64 Mb in my notebook, and one Nvidia with 128 Mb in my second computer. In my experience, the ATI's results are better, and I run Punch with full acceleration. In addition, the driver for the 9800 (Catalyst) offers a good performance and is updated aprox. once a month.
Memory: I'd suggest at least 1 or 2 Gb to work without problems
Hope this helps

Thanks Patricia
to answer you question...Desktop with Windows XP Pro. What do you suggest?
Also: Is there a difference between "Vidio" card and "Graphics" card?

Hi Jim,
If it will be a desktop, try to get a Video card ATI Radeon
As per the ATI web page "Video card a.k.a. Graphic card"
Hope this helps

A couple of weeks ago I built a new Core 2 Duo desktop 2.13 Ghz (overclocked to 3.2 Ghz) with 2 Gb of RAM and an nVidia 7600 GT graphics card. Performance was noticeably better than my Pentium 4 3.4 Ghz with 1 Gb RAM Dell computer. I am modeling a 5000 sq foot building and generating flythroughs so I AM exercising the new computer.

A local computer shop in my city is run by Steven who is known for his skills at programming security wireless & satellite systems and building servers for the same. I gave him my computer loaded with AS 4000 and after playing in Punch he said he could custom build me the works for $1200. If you need his e-mail I can get it for you. If I remember right it may be [email protected]. No... I did not buy his system last year as I am geting ready to go ALL MAC in my office and at home. If I was going to stay with a PC I would have bought his system. 1/3 the price of what I can get from other PC manufacturers.
