Hi bruce a carlson,

First, lets review some roofs and walls issues--> peak and hip are not the same
Please, check the first image attached (roofs and walls). If you have a wall with a peak, you have a wall with a gable, therefore you'll have a gable roof
If you have flat walls and all the roofs are at the same elevation, then you've a hip

So, first, check if the walls' profiles meet the desired roof shape
Second, check if, in the Roof Wizard is selected the option "Flatten gabled structures" (check the second image attached)--> if this option is checked, this will prevent the wizard to generate the gable roof

Hope this helps

This is not accurate. The Roofing Wizard creates Hips and Gables
You don't need to convert the roofs

Please check the attached image

Roof wizard returns this message "Unable to determne a roof structure for this design, Please adjust wall point locations and try again" I do not know where to start to correct this

Hi Marvin,

I saw this message in 2 situations

1 - When you have a detached exterior wall. This means a wall not connected with any building or other walls
2 - When the exterior walls are not 100 % linked, creating a completely closed perimeter

This is the way I use to check if all is connected
1 - verify if all the walls are exterior (I'd suggest to verify one by one)
2 - Select one wall and try to move it--> if they are linked, all the walls will be selected and will change the color
3 - select all the exterior walls and verify if there aren't "new" points in the walls (perhaps there is a forgotten wall...)

If the separated wall is not necessary for the building structure and the roofs are generated, ignore the message
