Hi Zoran,

If your question means "does this software perform the calculations?", or "does this software provide the specs?", the answer is, "nope, it doesn't" and more, if you are looking for a sw, where you draw a floorplan and the sw would determine "use this brick thickness" or "this will be a load wall", this software doesn't exist. Calculations must be performed by a professional

However, if your question means if you can texture and set a wall as a block wall in the framing editor and get the results in the Estimator (Bill of materials), yes, Punch AS 4000 and all the V6 versions and up can do this

Now, as Architect, I'd like to say a word of advice, The Mediterranean weather is very different from the CA conditions, therefore, you can try to design the Mediterranean look, but remember that you may require insulated walls or seismic walls. This is the reason why I recommend to check with a professional

Thanks Patricia, Thanks for the info; Yes, I do intend to contact the local architect over there in Montenegro, where the new property is located (I just purchased 3 acres there, not too far from the coast); What I am trying to do is create the floor plan that I like, and to have it be reasonable close to what actualy could be built, rather than having the architect competely redraw the plan to make it work; I grew up over there, then came here and have lived in Orange County for the last 20 years, and having two houses here I can see the difference; Building out of wood allows you to do things that are very difficult and expensive when done with bricts, so some level of support in software, for example, recomended thickness of the wall, would be nice, but as you pointed it out, there seems to be none. That info helps too _ I will then create the plan I would like if it was for here, and ship it to the architect over there - it may take a few more iterations, but it should be ok at the end ... Thanks again! Zoran

Hi Zoran

Yes, this is the exact idea and you are in the right way, in my opinion

I am sure you will enjoy the development of your dream house and see it in 3D. Focus your efforts in the aesthetics of the house, orientation, how the rooms will work together, etc
You can use the room wizard (V10) to set the rooms
And then, let the architect and the engineer worry with the walls thickness!! :-)

I agree with you about the brick possibilities, however, under certain design circumstances (insulation issues, for example) solid brick walls are not the right option

Good luck with your project!
